The application for REU Site 2022 is now open.
- Undergraduate students majoring in a science or engineering discipline. High school graduates who have been accepted at an undergraduate institution but who have not yet started their undergraduate study are also eligible to participate.
- Students must be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
- Students should have a minimum of 3.25 GPA.
Application Deadline: March. 14th, 2022 (Extended deadline).
Per NSF requirements, all the applications should be done through NSF’s ETAP website. Basically, first make a search through the below link by typing our keywords “smart things”:
Once you find the link for Florida International University REU Site on Security of Smart Things, please click on “Apply Now” button on the right. It will guide you through the process by creating an account.
For your personal statement, please explain why you are interested in the REU program, why you can be an exceptional candidate, the career goals and research interests. Please also include 1 or 2 potential topics you would be interested in pursuing a project. Note that we do not ask for reference letters, however, please include contact information for 3 references (email and phone) in case we may need to ask for further information when you are selected as finalists for the position.
Selections will be based on a combination of research interests, academic qualifications, and faculty recommendations.
